Kuchisake-onna (口 裂 け 女) The Slit Mouth Woman

Kuchisake-onna (口 裂 け 女) or The Slit Mouth Woman is a kind of demon in Japanese mythology and urban legend. He intangible woman who closes her mouth ripped with a fan, a scarf or surgical mask (the most popular version). He often appears on the deserted streets and ask people who met whether she was beautiful. When the man answered no or see the manifestation of the horror fear he would kill him.

In the legend said that Kuchisake-onna, being a young woman who lived in the Heian Period. Likely she is a wife or a concubine samurai. He was blessed with a very pretty face but arrogant, he was also often an affair behind her husband. Her husband was very jealous and betrayed attacked him and splitting his mouth from ear to ear. "Now who's going to say you're beautiful?" Sneered her husband.
While the version of the urban legend, Kuchisake-onna is a woman victim of facial surgery that failed. It is said that the doctor who operated on her face wearing pomade (hair oil type) with the piercing smell. When being operated on he could not rest because the smell was so that the doctor accidentally cut his mouth to tear. The woman became hysterical and angry and kill the doctor. Kuchisake-onna torn covering her mouth with surgical masks and often roaming in the city at night, especially when it is foggy.
